Bulk packing: Best illustrated by Crusader Soap where a bulk product is individually packed and then grouped into a predetermined shipping lot. Our service can include palletising and packing into shipping containers. The benefits to the customer are the timely completion of major packing requirements, reduced storage requirements due to our capacity to store bulk components, peace of mind due to our ability to sub-contract if required.
Kit assembly: this involves the make up of 'kits' from individual components eg: Brownbuilt filing cabinet hardware kits. The customer can specify different components for a variety of kits and is guaranteed that the kits will be accurate. The customer is able to plan production ahead and can utilise their staff more cost effectively.
Electrical assembly: Best illustrated by our work for our customer who markets a range of fluorescent, dome lights that are assembled by our employees using components supplied by the customer. The major advantages to the customer are unit costs are lowered; their staff are released to more cost effective roles, reduced storage requirements, a planned delivery schedule.
Shrink wrapping and skin packing: These processes can be utilised for products from small volume, specialist products to long run, standard shape products. Our customer does not have to invest in the technology and we can provide advice and expertise in the selection of material and in presentation.
Mail preparation/lodgement: Preparation and lodgement of bulk or specialised mailing.
Showbag packing: Bulk storage and handling of a variety of items that are packed into showbags. The main advantages to our customer include storage, goods inwards monitoring and liaison with numerous suppliers is handled by Civic Industries. Transport arrangements organised by Civic Industries. The customer receives consolidated accounts.
Labelling: Accurate labelling service for items as small as test tubes to overlabelling and large labels. Relieves customer of tedious, labour intensive job and releases staff for more cost effective activities.
Over labelling: Corrective labelling - minimises customer double handling, time and is a cost effective solution.
Header carding (stapling): Labour intensive.
Quality controlling: Cost effective alternative.
Display packing: This is usually short to medium volume promotional-type packaging for example watches; golf balls and tees. The volumes here do not make it cost effective for customers to employ staff for the job, or to redeploy existing staff from their primary roles.
